Our edgy designs often attract the unwanted and unwarranted attention of the websites that are used to promote properties, the biggest and baddest of them all is realestate.com.au or REA - for those in the know. Whilst they are a necessary evil, they govern strongly how a property's photos can be displayed on their website and they have published a set of rules, that are loosely abided by and evenly more loosely policed and for some reason certain types of advertisements seem to get away with it more than others. Find a copy of the rules here: Today, we aim to dilute the confusion around what you can, and can not do, when it comes to REA adverting. We have recently come under fire for our drop pins that contains the logo of the company within it. Our custom branded drop pins were a favourite amongst agents and agencies as they looked professional and classy - but as they are against the REA rules, so they have to go, but don't stress there are some great options that ARE ALLOWED and that can enhance your photos. Below are a couple of examples of what you CAN and CAN'T do when it comes to drop pins.
Now, when it comes to points of interest, you can use many forms, our standard ones are allowed and you can point out whatever you deem fit, we find that picturing what the buyer may want to see works well and target your campaign to suit. For example, a retiree is going to have little interest in the nightclub scene in Northbridge but may see value in the location pf the nearest RSL or bowls club and pointing this out may increase the amount of buyers and therefor the result. We can customise a type to suit your needs and charge no extra for this service. See examples below. You can have whichever colours you like, however most of our clients trust we will make the right decision and pick the right colours for you. Now when it comes to watermarks the following rules apply:
In conclusion, many of our clients love our designs and we love our clients so if an agent wants to try and sneak a branded drop pin passed REA, we are happy to provide this to them and if they are caught out, we are just as happy to replace it with a standard address label immediately and at no further charge.
Thanks for reading, and if you need our services, we are always happy to help.
